Backend Engineer (Node.js / Python)

Responsibilities
- Design and develop RESTful APIs for the SportFest platform.
- Implement user authentication, profiles, events, chats, and notifications.
- Design and manage database schemas and data flows.
- Ensure application security, performance, and scalability.
- Integrate third-party services (notifications, analytics, etc.).
- Support frontend and mobile teams with API documentation and updates.
Requirements
- 3+ years experience as a backend engineer.
- Strong experience with Node.js (Express/NestJS) or Python (Django/FastAPI).
- Experience working with relational or NoSQL databases.
- Understanding of authentication, authorization, and data security.
- Experience building APIs for mobile applications.
- Familiarity with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or similar).
Nice to Have
- Experience with real-time systems (WebSockets, Firebase, Pub/Sub).
- Experience building scalable MVPs or startup products.
- Knowledge of analytics and monitoring tools.
